Russia Cold-Climate Winding Temperature Monitoring
Russia winding temperature monitoring configuration for cold climates, covering BWR WTI selection, capillary routing, contacts and remote signals.
Transformer and Operating Environment
Outdoor oil-immersed transformer winding temperature monitoring in Russia places particular emphasis on low ambient temperature, outdoor exposure and reliable transfer of the simulated winding value to local control and remote supervision.
Cold-climate selection must start with the project environmental specification. Enclosure construction, sealing, capillary protection, cable entries, auxiliary equipment and any powered transmitter need to be checked against the stated minimum ambient and installation conditions.
Temperature Monitoring Needs
The WTI must maintain clear local indication and operate the approved cooling, alarm or trip contacts. The current-derived heating system must correspond to the transformer CT data and required winding-to-oil temperature rise.
Remote monitoring may use Pt100 or a conditioned 4-20 mA signal according to the selected model and panel architecture. The field scale and receiving scale must match, and the signal circuit should be commissioned across several test values.
Suitable OTI and WTI Arrangement
A BWR2 or BWR family winding temperature indicator can be reviewed after the full operating range, switch functions, CT interface, compound transmitter, output and capillary are defined. Environmental suffixes and current product drawings control the final selection.
The sensing system and capillary should be routed with broad bends and mechanical protection. Outdoor mounting should allow inspection without requiring repeated movement of the sealed capillary assembly.
Cooling, Alarm and Remote Signals
Cooling contacts are assigned in the transformer control scheme, while alarm and trip signals are coordinated with the approved protection philosophy. Contact ratings are compared with the real control circuit and interposing relays where applicable.
Remote tags should state simulated winding temperature rather than the generic phrase transformer temperature. This prevents the WTI value from being confused with top-oil or direct embedded sensing.
