Custom OTI, WTI, BWY and BWR Temperature Controllers

Convert a transformer temperature requirement into a controlled mechanical, electrical and monitoring configuration.

Choose the temperature range, contacts, remote output, power supply, capillary, sensing bulb, mounting thread and enclosure for the transformer and control panel. The available combination depends on the selected OTI, WTI, BWY or BWR model family.

Temperature Measurement and Scale

Confirm whether the controller represents transformer top oil or simulated winding temperature, then specify range, scale and accuracy requirement.

Cooling, Alarm and Trip Contacts

Define contact quantity, switching sequence, control voltage, relay duty and assignment to cooling, alarm or trip circuits.

Remote Monitoring Interfaces

Specify Pt100, 4–20 mA, RS485 or a compatible remote display together with signal scale, supply and receiving equipment.

Transformer Mechanical Interface

Confirm mounting, sensing bulb, pocket, thread, insertion depth, capillary length, cable entry and site environment.

What Can Be Configured on an OTI or BWY Controller?

Oil temperature controller projects typically define the top-oil scale, number of cooling or alarm contacts, remote output and sensing assembly. The bulb and thread must match the transformer thermometer pocket, while the capillary must reach the panel without tension, crushing or a tight bend.

What Must Be Defined for a WTI or BWR Controller?

A winding temperature controller adds the load-current thermal simulation. In addition to range, contacts and output, confirm the CT secondary current, converter or compound-transmitter arrangement and required winding-to-oil temperature rise. These values belong to the transformer design and should not be copied from an unrelated installation.

OEM Review for New Transformer Production

For a recurring production program, provide the transformer series, approved drawings, terminal philosophy, required model quantities and destination markets. A controlled selection sheet can standardize product codes and reduce variation between purchasing, assembly and commissioning records.

Replacement Review for Existing Transformers

Send the complete existing model code, front and nameplate photographs, terminal diagram, scale, contact functions, output, mounting footprint, bulb, thread and capillary length. A similar family name does not prove drop-in compatibility. Any planned signal or wiring change should be identified before ordering.

Documents to Approve Before Ordering

Request the current model-specific datasheet, outline drawing and terminal diagram. Confirm communication details, applicable quality documents and commercial terms for the final configuration.
