Transformer Winding Temperature Indicators (WTI)

Select a WTI for traditional simulated transformer winding temperature indication, cooling-stage control, alarm, trip and compatible remote output.

A transformer winding temperature indicator, or WTI, combines measured top-oil temperature with a calibrated load-current heating effect. BWR and BWR2 models indicate simulated winding temperature and provide contacts for transformer cooling and protection logic.

Check the measuring range, contact functions, output signal and mounting details for each model.

How to Select a Transformer Winding Temperature Indicator

Define the simulated winding temperature scale, CT secondary input and heating configuration first. Then specify cooling, alarm and trip contacts, Pt100 or 4-20 mA output, compound transmitter, capillary, mounting and replacement interfaces.

Start with the temperature you need to monitor

Use an OTI for transformer top-oil temperature. Use a traditional WTI when the project requires simulated winding temperature based on top oil and transformer load. If you need data in a PLC, RTU, SCADA system or remote display, specify Pt100, 4-20 mA or RS485.

Check the installation before choosing a model

Send the transformer type, existing model, measuring range, contact duty, power supply, capillary length, sensing bulb, thread and mounting dimensions. For a replacement, include clear photos of the nameplate, dial, terminals and installed capillary.

Order by the complete model code

BWY, BWY2, BWR and BWR2 model suffixes can identify different contacts and outputs. Compare the full code with the latest datasheet, outline drawing and terminal diagram before placing an order.
